To Market, To Market

May 20, 2009 | press, work

I’m concerned about over/under-marketing myself and my new business.

According to a few people I’m close with, I shouldn’t be apprehensive about getting my name out there, which I agree with to a certain extent. If I don’t believe in myself, I know others won’t. And that’s not the vibe I want to give off.

In this newly-hatched stage, I can’t afford to be wishy-washy.

But I want to self-promote strategically.

And going “balls to the wall” in my marketing ventures doesn’t suit me well, because it (to me) gives off an air of undeserved grandeur, and that’s just not how I roll.

I love the idea of viral marketing, and going about self-promotion in a more organic way. Last week I brought my business cards and fliers to the May Zona Rosa meeting, hopeful to pass them out to the other Alpha Babes.

What exactly is it that I’m doing, you ask? I hate the word synergetic, but that’s exactly what my goal is – to help people improve their efficiency (thus the new biz title) in their work endeavors. I love working with Connie and I’ve written about our work relationship before. I thought, “I’d love to be able to help other people that need an assistant, but maybe not full-time.” Especially writers and other creative geniuses.

That, you could say, is my niche.

I’ve also updated the blog and attached my newly-improved flier in the “Hire Me” section. If you know someone that could use an assistant, please tell your friends/family/foes (Hey, they’re not my enemies) that I’m officially up for hire, and I’ll be forever grateful.
