So happy togeeetherrrr…
Happy to report that the florist visit went just as expected. I loved all of Christine’s ideas, and felt like she really “got” me. I’m (im)patiently awaiting her price quote, and hope that everything will work within our budget. Thankfully, since we picked such a great outside location, there will be plenty of flowers in bloom all around, and in early October none of the leaves will be changing yet.
Here’s a few of the things we went over:
– I’m opting out of having an aisle runner. If we can fit petals into the budget, we’ll just do a sweeping of orange petals down the aisle.
– bouquets – Super-pumped for the bouquets. We’re shooting for orange, the pretty peacock blue, some berries, and a few peacock feathers to add some pizzaz. Oscar’s boutonnière will probably have a single feather to differentiate him from the rest of the boys, and the girls’ bouquets will have some of the same flowers as the guys’ boutonnières (which is pretty standard). We also went through corsages for the grandmothers and a small bouquet for the Moms.
– Tables – Sooo loving her ideas for the tables. I’ve always been a fan of mixing things up, and she drew up a sample of some shorter, more modern table designs that would incorporate the persimmon and brown combo, complete with little tealights.
Once we book her and she has a chance to come look at the venue, I think my vision will finally start coming together.

In other news, a week and a half until I move into the house, and we finally got our fence approved this week! They’ll start the building next Tuesday or Wednesday.
