The house has freshly painted walls! Our dining room is a burnt orange called pumpkin spice and our other two bathrooms are “Prussian blue.” The blue with the white trim in our bathroom now looks amazing. Like a completely new space. Hooray for color!
I got this in an email today, and it made me smile – “You must not succumb to apathy and anger induced by job tedium and crazed back-to-school drivers. . .inhale sunlight and exhale allll the little skulls. . .thatagirl!”
It’s nice to know that people halfway across the country are behind me. 🙂

In other news, I have been freakishly obsessed with time lately. Maybe just because I feel like I don’t have any (No time! There’s never any time! I don’t have time to study! I’ll never get into Stanford! I’m so confused!)
But even the tiniest of things. Watching how long each track on the particular CD I’m enjoying. I don’t know why this bothers me. Some tracks I feel should be longer, and they aren’t. With some CDs, there are tracks I’m listening to and I don’t even realize how long they’ve been playing until I look up to check, and think – “Jeez, this song has been playing forever and I haven’t even noticed. It’s THAT good.”
But really, my entire life has become a countdown. A schedule.
Monday through Friday, it goes something like this –
6:00am – Get up and get ready for work
7:30am – Leave. On the dot. If not right at 7:30, be prepared to sit in oodles of traffic.
9:00am – Arrive to work if lucky. If not, call in and explain someone had an accident and will be there shortly.
12:00pm – Lunch! Usually by this time I’m absolutely starving and lunch can’t seem to come fast enough
4:00pm – Must. Have. Snack.
6:00pm – Clock-out time. This means I either get to go to job numero dos (yippee!) or get to spend an hour/hour and a half in the car to get home
7:30pm – Must. Have. Dinner.
8:00-10:00pm – Whatever happens. Playing with dog, watching TV, various wedding-related things
And I’m always trying to make the “best time” possible. I know it takes around an hour and a half for me to get to work, but if I can make it in an hour and twenty minutes, that’s a good day. Even better if it’s an hour and fifteen, which won’t happen once the other counties start back next Monday. It’s ok – I have my Spanish CDs (and the fact that I’m getting married) to comfort me.
T-minus 59 days and counting. And counting. And counting.
