I had a moment this afternoon where I realized that I’m getting married this year.
This year.
In 2008.
I’m getting married.
I understand that when I said “yes,” it started the ticking clock. And of course, I immediately started to plan. But that was 2007.
Now it’s 2008, and in 10 months and 2 days, I’m getting married.
Crazy.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I haven’t even constructed resolutions. Usually, I try to have about 4 or so. A nice, even number that isn’t scary.
So, here’s a nice, even 4 that I just came up with:
– Put up a fence and adopt a dog (so I have something to cuddle with that doesn’t make me feel like I’ve contracted the flu)
– Learn some Spanish (so I’m not the silly white girl and can actually hold short conversations with Oscar’s family)
– Get married (you know, because I’m like, in love, and stuff)
– Become 1/4 the domestic goddess my Mom is (ie, learn how to cook things in my crockpot, keep the house clean, and redecorate in some fashion that isn’t college-graduate chic.)
Holy jeebus 2008. You have a lot in store for me.
